Human Resource Manager - Benefits and HR Systems
Position Summary
As a result of an internal transfer, the Gorton's Human Resource area has an opportunity for an individual with experience and/or interest in Human Resources. This assignment includes responsibility for the management of Benefit plans and other HR Processes for Gorton's and affiliated businesses across the United States.
Accountabilities
- Effectively manage Gorton's benefit programs (Health & Welfare and Retirement Plans), vendors and brokers to provide competitively attractive employee benefits plans which are state of the art and cost efficient for the company.
- Manage all regulatory requirements related to benfit plan compliance including Plan Document updates, SPD's, 5500's, etc.
- Communicate benefit programs and changes to employees and lead efforts such as open enrollment, retirement plan meetings, Investment Committee Meetings, and other employee communications materials.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Payroll/Human Resource Information Systems activities.
- Coordinate the compensation planning systems and resources including identification, collection and distribution of appropriate competitive data.
- Leverage technology to simplify and streamline Human Resource processes.
- Continue the development of Benefits and Payroll/HRIS team members.
- Contribute to the advancement of other activities with the Human Resources area as identified.
Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and has two direct reports.
Qualifications
- 4 to 8 years of Human Resource related work experience. Benefits management experience is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's or Master's level business education.
- Solid foundation of Human Resource specific knowledge (or strong interest to develop this expertise).
- Effective leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to advance multiple priorities at the same time.
- Solid business knowledge and judgment.
- Well developed interpersonal skills.
- Entrepreneurial drive and resilience.
- Interest and capacity to leverage technology to streamline and simplify business processes.
